Long line forms at Pedal Instead

Pedal Instead was created by the Mayor’s Green Team Growth & Development Committee and launched at the Grange Insurance Family Fun Fest in September 2006. The service, which encourages area residents to ride their bicycles to and from public festivals and events, was modeled after the Indy Greenways program “Pedal N Park”. Pedal Instead provides secure, supervised bicycle parking and educates the general public about bicycling as more than just a recreational or fitness activity.
